Folders are not read only. Read what the backdrop dialog says."Read-only (Only applies to files in folder)" It does not matter what you lot do, the folder's properties will always bear witness a filled in box next to read-only. It has been this fashion forever. If you look closely, it is Not a bank check mark.

Than you were non paying attention.Your issue is the NTFS permissions, they are setup for the previous installation. Yous need to reset them for the new installation. Zilch to exercise with the read-only attribute.

From Windows 7: (No matter what, the read-only checkbox volition always display as such. Aforementioned applies to Windows eight and x.)
Read-only does not apply to folders. Period end of give-and-take. Your issue is the NTFS permissions as I said previously (Security tab).
